  • pilar-pilapilPilar Pilapil now enjoys a new lease on life after undergoing the horrifying ordeal of being kidnapped and almost killed in an alleged carjacking incident on April 14. She believes she is still alive because “the Lord performed [a] miracle for me.” That was the sentiment Pilapil revealed as she opened up for the first time about her experience in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN, published online on May 11. In it, she even admitted praying to the Lord to “touch the hearts” of the men who abducted her, stabbed her and left her for dead; and was only able to pull through with the help of continuous prayers.

Looking back on what was clearly a life or death situation, she noted that her abductors could have easily stabbed her in the neck if they had wanted to. “Pwedeng may tama [rin] and kidney ko o ang liver ko,” she said, but she felt God had prevented all that, telling ABS-CBN, “Pinigil talaga ng Panginoong Diyos.”

Pilapil recalled being dumped by her attackers in an isolated area in Antipolo City. With blood dripping all over her, she alternated between walking and crawling to find help, resting only briefly, until she saw a lighted house. Upon reaching it, she introduced herself to the shocked family that lived there, who then brought her to the hospital.

At the hospital, doctors were able to stabilize her condition the following day. In the interview, Pilapil related she got stabbed in her left lung, for which she is now doing therapy. She also shared that the incident brought another blessing—the knowledge that there are still many people who love her. More, it had somehow become a way to bring back long lost friends into her life, notably actor Romeo Vasquez, who flew in from the US to visit her in the hospital.

Although Pilapil did not really talk about her still-missing companion, nor discussed any theories or information she may have about the incident, she did share one thing—she considers the experience a reminder to her about serving God’s higher purpose. “This isn’t a good experience but I should learn a lot from this. God gave me this to test my strength,” she told the ABS-CBN. (abs-cbn.news)
