  • CarmiMartinOn TV, Carmi Martin considers herself a Kapuso actress. But on the big screen, she’s a Kapamilya what with her funny exposures in such hits as “No Other Woman” and “Four Sisters & a Wedding”. “I’m really lucky na nabibigyan ako ng trabaho in both networks,” she says. “Pero sa TV, for the past two years, talagang sunod-sunod ang assignments ko sa GMA-7, mula noong 2011 in ‘Beauty Queen,’ then ‘My Lover My Wife,’ ‘Magic Palayok,’ ‘Luna Blanca,’ ‘Broken Vow,’ guesting sa ‘Spooky Nights’ and ‘Pepito Manaloto,’ ‘Makapiling Kang Muli,’ ‘Unforgettable’ na misis ako ni Phillip Salvador, and now, ‘Prinsesa ng Buhay Ko’. I can really feel, mahal nila ako diyan.”
It’s her first time to work with the Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal love team. How is it? “Gusto ko sila, nakakatuwa sila. They’re very serious with their work kahit mga bata pa. At pareho silang may respeto sa senior stars na kasama nila, lalo si Aljur who’s really a gentleman. I can feel magiging hit itong show namin.”

What about the son of Lorna Tolentino and the late Rudy Fernandez who plays her own son in the story? “Nakakatuwa rin kasi he’s eager to learn. Siempre, nakuha naman niya ang genes ng mga magulang niya na parehong magaling.”

Has she finally graduated from her interior design course? “Natapos ko na ang buong course pero ang problema, bumagsak ako sa board. Pumasa naman ako doon sa written exams, pero doon sa actual drawing ng designs ko, doon ako bumagsak. Pangit daw ang drawing ko noong theater na pina-design sa akin. Pero nang gawin ko naman ang design ko, mas maganda ang actual results. Pangit lang siguro talaga ang drawing ko. They’re telling me to take it again kasi nagpa-practice daw ako, hindi naman ako pas- ado sa board. Right now, I have two big design projects.
