    these days as Governor Eduardo
    Buenavista in the hit Primetime
Bida series Pangako Sa ‘Yo, Ian
    Veneracion admitted that he
sometimes gets mistaken for a real
politician when he’s out in public.
Some fans on social media even
went as far as to compare him to
several political figures in real life.
The father of three said he has no
plans of running for public office.

    “Oo nakita ko. Pinakita sa
akin ng anak ko sa Facebook.
    Siyempre natatawa ako dahil wala,
    nakakatawa lang. At saka hindi
    ako active online. Wala akong
    Instagram, wala akong Twitter.
May Facebook ako which I open
once in I don’t know (laughs).
Ang pinapaalala ko sa mga tao
kasi ang tawag nila sa akin ‘Gov.’
    Sinasabi ko, ‘Please lang huwag
    niyo akong iboto.’ Kunwari lang
    yun. Hindi talaga ako Governor
    (laughs),” he said.

    The former teen heartthrob
also shared why in this day and
age he has chosen not to be active
on social media unlike stars who
    have a hundreds of thousands
    of followers online. “Because
    I enjoy real conversations with

people and yun nga, the more
time I spend for example sa social
network, all the more na hindi
    ko na kailangan puntahan yung
kaibigan ko matagal ko ng hindi
nakita. Dun na lang kasi nagkikita
naman kayo dun. Pero it’s not
the same. So ako I’d rather have
    coffee with someone, an old
friend, yung ganyan, or have real
    conversations,” he explained.

    With Pangako Sa ‘Yo slated
to end in the first quarter of this
year, Ian said he has no plans of
    working on another soap right
    away. “I’m really thankful dahil
    successful ngayon yung show
    and maganda yung feedback
nila pero hindi ko alam where it
    will end. Pero yung magkasunod
    agad? Parang nakakapagod
masyado yun. Kasi not only is it
    time consuming but emotionally
    siyempre you’re involved with
the character and you live that
    character. For example, my
character of Eduardo. I can say
na oo hindi ako si Eduardo pero
    yung nakikita niyong umiiyak at
natutuwa si Ian yun eh, ako yun eh.
Hugot ko yun from my personal
experiences so how can I say that
that’s not Ian di ba? So yun nga,
dala mo rin yun so mahirap naman
to go from one character to another
just like that. Lalo na pag show na
ilang months or isang taon mong
    ginagawa. Meron ka dapat break
para maka-move on and to have
    space for the future characters,”
    he said.• – R. M. Santos, push.com
