  • Megastar Sharon Cuneta wants to do a TV sitcom over a soap opera. The actress said so recently during her renewal of contract with ABS-CBN which has been home to her for 21 years. “Pag drama, espesyal ‘yon. Gusto ko sa big screen ako makikita ‘pag drama,” she said in a taped interview aired in “Showbiz News Ngayon” last July 27.

Another reason for Sharon’s aversion to doingsharon-cuneta (1) a soap opera is the late work hours such entails. She says she doesn’t want “to ruin my body clock anymore.” “It (body clock) has been ruined for many years. Now na medyo ayos na ‘to, ayokong sirain uli,” she said. Sharon rekindled her love for comedy after the success of her most recent film, “BFF,” which paired her with Comedy Queen Ai Ai de las Alas. As for teaming up with her daughter KC Concepcion, Sharon said she is still waiting for the right project to come along.
The Megastar disclosed that casting for her forthcoming movie — the Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “Mano Po 6” — is still incomplete. It was rumored that producer Mother Lily wanted to cast Angel Locsin as Sharon’s daughter in the sixth installment of the series, but had to forego the idea because of Locsin’s exclusive contract with Star Cinema.
