  • As we count and celebrate our many blessings in 2023, I would like to take this opportunity to pay
tribute to three outstanding individuals who had been part of the ReyFort Media family.
Sadly, they are no longer with us, but we will forever be grateful for the many contributions they made
to the success of ReyFort Media.

I salute Jun Cordero, one of the original writers of Philippine Asian News Today. Jun helped set up the
paper and was with us since the early days in 1992. He passed away on July 18, 2023.

I also honour Lourdes ‘Deedee’ Siytango, former spokesperson for then Philippine President Corazon
‘Cory’ Aquino. For more than 20 years, Deedee gave us the right to reprint her columns with the Manila
Bulletin for Philippine Asian News Today. She met our Maker on September 28, 2023.

Lastly, I take my hat off to Thomas ‘Tom’ Choy Jr. Tom wrote for the Philippine Asian News Today and
was an active member of the community. Tom moved on on December 23.

Jun, Deedee and Tom helped build the Philippine Asian News Today and ReyFort Media into respected
    institutions in the Filipino community.

They left a lasting legacy that we will honour and advance by doing more and improving our work in
2024 and in the years to come.

Stay tuned to a number of changes we are going to introduce in the new year.
Thank you Jun, Deedee and Tom.

And for all of you dear readers and supporters, here’s a toast for your health and wealth in 2024!

    Rey Fortaleza
