  • 88 Supermarket celebrated Canada Day by giving away gift certificates and prizes plus a 2022 Mitsubishi RVR for their annual raffle. Present for the raffle was 88 Supermarket President and CEO Ken Chau, and General Manager Khalil Qureshi as well as James Green of Mitsubishi and Rey Fortaleza, official media partner of the store, to draw the winners.

Winning the car was Suzette Bautista who frequents 88 Supermarket and was able to put in 10 tickets during the promotion period. She was present at the Killarney store when she was told to come and claim her prize.

88 Supermarket also gave a $500 check to Golden Gift from the Heart for People in Need organization established by Vancouver residents and Fil-Canadian community members Rey Fortaleza, Francis Penalosa, Bert Parungao and Mario Hernandez. The organization seeks to extend help for people in distress, particularly individuals dealing with physical and mental disabilities.  They have been gathering clothes, wheelchairs, walkers and canes for those in need. The organization has partnered with DZRH in Manila for its Operation Tulong (Help) with broadcaster Mae Binauhan.

Canada Day is always a day for celebration at 88 Supermarket and they hope to resume their barbecue and food giveaways next year.
