  • From best friends to romantic couple, now engaged to be married, showbiz couple Kaye Abad and Paul Jake Castillo promised to tie the know recently.

On Tuesday, Kaye celebrated her 34th birthday, and had a gathering with family and friends at Bellevue Hotel in Alabang.

Unknown to her, it would also be the same night when Paul Jake would ask her hand for marriage.

In a video posted by the comedian Pooh, Kaye was seen emotional at the moment Paul Jake was on his knees holding out the engagement ring.

“Nagsimula tayo as friends tapos naging partner in crime kita. Best friend, tapos hindi mo talaga napigilan ginawa mo akong boyfriend. Now I would like to seal it, would you marry me?” said Paul Jake to Kaye.

This was answered by the Kapamilya actress with a simple “oo,” while wiping her tears.

The couple’s friends like John Prats and Camille Prats extended their congratulations through Instagram.

“Napakasaya ko natupad na hinihintay mo,” said John to Kaye. “Sure ako magiging masaya kayo ni @pauljake_castillo. Ikakasal ka sa bestfriend mo.”

John also teased the actress saying, “Sisiguraduhin kong aattend ako sa wedding nyo, kung hindi ka magkuripot sa headcount. Hahahaha!”

Camille said that she’s happy that Kaye is soon to settle down. “Alam ko kung gaano mo katagal hinintay ang araw na ito,” she said.

“God’s perfect time and with the right person, ‘eto na nga,” she added.
