  • diether-ocampoAs part of the upcoming new teleserye Someone to Watch Over Me starring Judy Ann Santos and Richard Yap on ABS-CBN, Diether Ocampo admitted he looks forward to working with Juday again. “I play the role of Anthony. So nagkaroon siya ng love interest dito pero ang tingin lang nung character ni Judy Ann sa kanya ay isang kaibigan lang so dun magkakaroon ng very interesting twist kasi another character will be coming in so magkakaroon ng love triangle.

Isa akong parang homeless kid na inampon. My role was able to identify with this person na nagpalaki sa kanya and then nung pumasok siya sa isang academy nakilala niya yung character ni Judy Ann,” he shared.

With his last Kapamilya series Apoy Sa Dagat shown two years ago, Diether said he has been busy going back to school as well as learning a new sport. “I took this program under La Salle called the Ace Enterpreneurship program which I’m finishing by 2016. It’s about business. Since I was busy finishing my school program yun yung pinagkakaabalahan ko. I’ve been waiting for a good project and finally Dreamscape offered this and I’m very happy that they considered me. The reason why I was away for a few months siguro or a few years because I’ve been busy training and also studying. Aside from that I’ve been busy training horse riding, horsemanship,” he explained.

The Someone To Watch Over Me actor says it is not true he has gotten pickier with his projects which is why he is not as active in showbiz as before. “Well I guess I don’t think being picky is the right word. Siguro hindi lang fit, mahirap naman ipilit but of course I’m very thankful to those people who considered me of course. I’m always thankful. I think starting with this project I’ll be very busy na. Mostly finishing other small projects on the side,” he said.

Diether said he feels lucky to be part of another inspiring show and he is always grateful to be given quality projects in the Kapamilya network. “I guess that this will always be my family. Not only my immediate family but also my family here in ABS-CBN especially Star Magic and of course Dreamscape before it became Dreamscape. I worked with all of the people who are part of it and I am forever indebted to them,” he admitted.

As a close family friend of Bong Revilla’s brother, Diether admitted he hopes that the family has recovered especially after Jolo’s accident. “I’m quite close to Strike the brother but other than that, hindi ako  updated dun sa mga current na nangyayari sa kanila. But I do hope na things will be better in the future. Of course I guess they’re going through a lot lately. So knowing them, malalagpasan nila yun pretty sure. I believe they’re a very strong family and very strong bond with all their family members so wala namang sigurong pagsubok na hindi nila malalagpasan as a family. And as my kababayan I just wish all the best for them,” he said. (R. M. Santos, push .com)
