Sausage-party-1Vancouver’s own comedy treasures, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg put a new twist on animation with Sausage Party. Decidedly different this bit of animation hilarity comes your way thanks to the forward thinking executives at Sony Pictures. Check out all the hilarity at Cineplex odeon screens across B.C.

It’s the writing, stupid. Put  together a raw script that’s as outlandish as they come and they will come!  Billed as the first r-rated rated movie Sausage Party explores the shenanigans that befall a group of packaged food commodities at a super market.

Lust is everywhere as you have a well preserved package if sausages interested in getting it on with the neighbouring buns. Superb animation breathes life into these once thought of as static packages with Frank being the Weiner of the moment. Seth Rogen lends  his voice to this horny top dog who undergoes quite the transformation as countless human emotions co found him and the other grocery mainstays.

Talented A list actors lend their voices to this tale of food products looking to find love in all the wrong places. Not only must these products overcome their own inhibitions but they also must contend with humans. Highly creative writing that actually contains some very insightful messages turns this 90 minute movie into a very thought-provoking emotional tale

So smart is Rogen’s talent that to create more interest in this adult oriented offbeat tale that he managed to populate an actual New York grocery store with robotic talking foodstuffs much to the shock of unsuspecting shoppers. Their expressions are priceless.

Given the voice talents of Ed Norton, James  Franco, Salma Hayek and Paul Rudd and a host of others Sausage Party is a raunchy delight. Helped with some great songs and a hilarious food orgy near the end this is one way out there film that oozes with creativity.
