  • There is a big possibility that the boxoffice hit and Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022
top grosser “Deleter,” produced by Viva Films and directed by Mikhail Red, will have a
    sequel.

The 2022 MMFF best director Mikhail Red, at the victory party of the thriller on Wednesday
at the Greyhound Cafe in Rockwell, confirmed there is a chance the story of Lyra, the
character played by MMFF 2022 best actress, is not yet finished.

“Sana in. Very interesting. May mga naka lineup na,” he said.

The filmmaker said “Deleter,” which had already grossed more than P230 million since it
opened on Christmas Day 2022, received solid support from young audiences.

“Iba rin talaga ‘yung pandemic viewers … Oo yung younger generation nagulat din kami,”
    he revealed.

With him having the highestgrossing film last year, Direk Mik has clearly cemented his
place in the mainstream scene. But he does not see himself totally leaving his independent
    roots.

“Ang tagal ko na din kasi na nasa independent scene ako, so actually nung nakapasok pa
    lang ‘di ko na expect.

“Oo nga may mga taong nag rereact (na mainstream director) na ako, parang okay lang
‘yan kaya nga ineenjoy ko both, pati yung challenges,” he also added.

As to his next move, he said he has two projects lined up for next year one series and
    one movie.

Well, if indeed there is a “Deleter 2,” Nadine will surely jump at the chance to work with him
    again.

In a previous interview, Nadine said that aside from horror being her favorite genre, the
main reason she accepted “Deleter” was because of writerdirector Mikhail Red. It was an
easy yes when she found out he would be at the helm of “Deleter.” And she said she would
welcome the chance to work with him again.

Meanwhile, Direk Mikhail heaped praises on Nadine, calling her a “very technical actress.”
“[She’s] a very technical actress and I am a very technical director. In synch kami. She
understands the craft from a technical perspective. Naiintindihan nya what I want and what I
need. Madali ko ma articulate. Kaya nya I sustain ang emotion kasi may mga marks and
beats na necessary sa horror. Lalo na sa horror,” said Direk Mik.

“Deleter” is currently showing in select theaters in the USA and UAE. (Malay
