    OTTAWA Si Andrew Scheer, ang Lider ng Partidong Konserbatibo ng Canada at

    Lider ng Opisyal na Oposisyon, ay naglahad ng sumusunod na pahayag:

    Mabuhay! Sa araw na ito, ang mga Pilipino dito sa Canada at sa buong mundo ay nagdiriwang ng ika-119 na anibersaryo ng Deklarasyon ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas.

    “Noong 1898, ipiniroklama ng mga Pilipino ang sariling kalayaan matapos ang 300 na taon na pagkakasakop sa ilalim ng kolonya ng España. Ang Pilipinas ay umusbong bilang isa sa mga nangungunang ekonomiya sa Timog Silangang Asya.

    “Ang Canada at Pilipinas ay may mahabang relasyon, sa pamamagitan ng pangangalakal, pagpapaunlad ng ekonomiya, at mga naipamahaging prinsipyo. Bukod pa dito, ang Canada ay tahanan ng masiglang komunidad ng mga Pilipino. Ang Pilipinas ay patuloy na nangungunang bansa na pinagmumulan ng imigrasyon sa Canada.”

    “Ma mahigit na 700,000 na Filipino-Canadians na nakatira sa Canada, sila ay naging mahalagang bahagi na ng lipunan ng Canada.

    “Bilang Lider ng Opisyal na Oposisyon at ng Partidong Konserbatibo ng Canada, binabati ko ang lahat ng nagdiriwang ng Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan!
