  • From September 11 to 17, all SM Cinemas in over 45 malls nationwide will show nothing but Filipino films which are either part of the competition or in exhibition in the Sineng Pambansa National Film Festival All Masters Edition. This was confirmed by the Film Development Council of the Philippines, organizer of the seven-day film festival. “The 2013 Sineng Pambansa National Film Festival All Masters Edition is an exclusive event for all screens of SM Cinemas. Thus, no Hollywood or foreign films will be shown throughout that period,” the FDCP said in a statement sent to InterAksyon.

The local films that will be screened throughout the film festival include the following entries in the main competition: “Otso” by Elwood Perez, “Ang Tag-araw ni Twinkle” by Gil M. Portes, “Tinik” by Romy Suzara, “Bamboo Flowers” by Maryo J. de los Reyes, “Lauriana” by Mel Chionglo, “Sonata” by the tandem of Peque Gallaga and Lore Reyes, “Eman” by Tikoy Aguiluz, “Badil” by Chito Roño, “Lihis” by Joel Lamangan and “Ano ang Kulay ng mga Nakalimutang Pangarap” by Jose Javier Reyes.

Likewise, there will be a short film competition that will have winners each from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
