  • Despite the challenges, actor Echong Dee is in high spirits as he celebrated Chinese New Year.

On Instagram Story Feb. 1, Dee greeted his followers with Gong Xi Fa Cai which means “wishing you enlarge wealth” in Chinese.

Chinese around the world are celebrating the New Year today.

Dee also captioned the IG photo: “Kita tayo mamayang 8pm sa fundraising ng @pbbabscbntv. Excited ako sobra sa masayang kuwentuhan mamaya.”

On Monday afternoon, Dee voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation in Quezon City in connection with the P1 billion cyber libel case filed against him by DUMPER Representative Claudine Bautista-Lim in August 2021.

Later the same day, Dee, 33, reportedly posted P48,000 bail for his temporary freedom.

Bautista has confirmed she filed a complaint against Dee after he criticized her wedding on social media.

“The anxiety, anguish, humiliation and the impact on my and my family’s reputation left us no choice but to file cases against those responsible for causing us so much grief and worry, which almost led to me losing our baby, and which adversely affected some of our constituents’ trust in us,” Bautista said.

Dee has already apologized to Bautista long before she filed a complaint.
