Vancouver track star Zion Corrales Nelson suits up for University of California, Berkeley

She has been awarded as a student athlete in the Sport of Women’s Track & Field, also having recent record-breaking stints at national meets in the U.S. & the Philippines.
UC  Berkeley is a Pac 12 Division 1 School where she has been offered several full ride scholarships from basketball and track and has had over 100 coaches email or call or write her.

She picked her Number One school since she was in G rade 6 – this was her school of choice. Zion’s secret to her sports success: training hard and eating healthy.   “To keep myself in top shape, I just make sure I’m eating well and training hard,” she said. She spends an average of three hours a day for training. As for her diet, her ‘must-have’ breakfast meal consists of the old fashioned oatmeal with blue berries and brown sugar.

During the day, she eats whatever she wants, mostly high protein foods, but her favorites are Filipino and Jamaican food and her Uncle Bret’s famous steak.

Zion is the daughter of Editha Corrales-Nelson, PNT columnist and a granddaughter of Edna Corrales.
