50 new records established in Coseteng swim meet

Marc Bryan Dula of WeissenheimerAcademy, Sean Terence Zamora of University of Santo Tomas and Charize Jualiana Esmero of University of the Philippines Integrated School led the list by smashing five records each.

Dula nailed records in the boys’ 8 years 100m IM, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle while Zamora had record-breaking feats in the boys’ 15-over 200m IM, 100m backstroke, 100m freestye, 200m backstroke and 50m freestyle; and Esmero got new marks in the girls’ 13 years 200m IM, 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle, 200m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

“These kids are really aiming for records as they are gearing up for international tournaments next year. It’s part of their buildup and we’re happy that they are improving from time to time,” said PSL President Susan Papa.

Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh of Immaculate Heart of Mary College-Paranaque (girls’ 9 100m IM, 50m fly, 50m breast and 1 00m back), Kyla Soguilon of Sun Yat Sen School-Kalibo (girls’ 11 100m free, 100m fly, 100m IM and 50m free) and Aubrey Bermejo of Iligan City (girls’ 12 200m fly, 100m free, 100m fly and 200m free) notched four records in the tournament supported by The Manila Times.

Scoring three records apiece were Jerard Dominic Jacinto (boys’ 14 100m back, 200m back and 100m IM) and Adrienne Macapagal (girls’ 11 200m fly, 100m free and 100m fly) while Ferdinand Ian Trinidad (boys’ 13 100m breast and 200m fly), Erika Suelan (girls’ 11 200m breast and 100m breast), Estelle Mendez (girls’ 6-under 50m back and 100m back), Tom Aubrey (girls’ 8 100m back and 50m free) and Marie Joe Borres (girls’ 10 200m breast and 200m back) posted two records in their respective events.
The other    record-breakers were Joey Del Rosario (boys’ 8 50m fly), Rio Lorenzo Malapitan (boys’ 12 200m breast), Shella Ocampo (girls’ 14 200m fly), Hannah Sartorio (girls’ 13 200m fly), Ivo Enot (boys’ 9 100m back), Zhakira Idulsa (girls’ 12 200m breast), Juliana Villanueva (girls’ 11 200m fly), Isabel Baclig girls’ 13 100m breast), Carmenrose Matabuena (girls’ 15-over 200m fly), Morie Pabalan (boys’ 50m breast), Andrea Jheremy Pacheco (girls’ 15-over 100m breast), Eirik Rivera (boys’ 10 200m back), Jux Solita (boys’ 15-over 200m fly), Alfonso Gabriel Torrico (boys’ 200m breast) and Heather White (girls’ 8 50m breast).

PSL is a national sports swimming association for Universities and Colleges accredited by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (Fessap), internationally affiliated member of Federation of International Sports University (FISU).(MT)
