  • The new Philippine Tourism Director for Northwestern U.S. has met with members of the Filipino community in Vancouver. She is Purificacion S. Suanding-Molintas, who has held various positions in the Department of Tourism. Suanding-Molintas took over the reins from predecessor Rene de los Santos.

    Suanding-Molintas has been with the Department of Tourism for 15 years as Regional Director of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)  based in Baguio City.

    As regional director, she led the development of festivals and events across the Cordillera provinces and cities in Northern Philippines.

    Suanding-Molintas has actively promoted the Cordillera region and Northern Philippines. Her initiatives include the development of local tourism roads Suanding-Molintas was also instrumental in the development of tourism plans of various local governments .

    Under her leadership as CAR director, several tourism establishments were accredited.

    Suanding-Molintas met Vancouver-area Filipino Media last February 24 at the Flamingo Restaurant at 7510 Cambie Street.
