Sun Power

  • Even Superman gets his energy from the earth’s yellow sun. This energy has been available to us for free for centuries.

Christian Cunanan, a Canada-based entrepreneur, was working with a company that supplies equipment and parts for oil and gas industry. The price of oil in the world market was spiraling downward and was affecting his company, and so there was less volume of work order coming in.

“I was driving one day and saw the constructions of solar-powered traffic and parking signs in Vancouver. I thought, now is the best time to invest in green energy especially solar power. It’ll be the future of power generation and the technology will be the next best thing. One day, I saw a friend‘s Facebook post about a solar power company in the Philippines and inquired about the company. Soon enough I was exchanging messages with the CEO and President of the company. I told him my target market are the OFWs and Filipino migrants who regularly send money to the Philippines for household expenses,” recalls Cunanan.

IMG_2576He thought that the Philippines has abundant sunlight and a shortage of electricity supply. The cost of electricity is continuously rising due to demand. The Solar prices compared to other sources of electricity is cheaper than from coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy. The advantage of Solar power over the other energy sources, it’s one of the most promising renewable energy source in the world. It is non- polluting, has no moving parts that could break down, requires little maintenance and no supervision, and has a life of 20 to 30 years with low running cost. Solar energy technologies offer a clean, renewable and domestic energy source.

So he partnered with Trinergy Renewables Corporation in the Philippines. Its product – REC solar panels. The sun’s energy can be harnessed by solar panels Photovoltaic cells, which convert sunlight into electricity.

“You can make your home fully powered by the sun. Imagine the savings you’ll have in your electric bill!” says Cunanan, who holds a university degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a working knowledge with a certification of competency from a Norwegian Gas Turbine Power Plant.

Cunanan, who also worked as a Mechanical Engineer in a military Air Base facility in Saudi Arabia maintaining and operating a Gas Turbine Power Plant, gives us an idea of how much to invest in solar energy.

“To electrify a two-story, 3-bedroom house, 12 solar panels installed on the rooftop is ideal. 12 solar panels deliver 3.0KWp at PHP 290,000. Other packages are 4 solar panels which deliver 1.0KWp at PHP 140,000, and 6 solar panels which deliver 1.5KWp at PHP 190,000,” explains Cunanan.

The package includes the Renewable Energy Solar Power Solutions comprising of REC Solar Panels, Enphase  / SMA Inverters, Controllers, Cables, Mounting Modules / Systems, and related accessories and services. REC Solar PVs come with a 25-year warranty on efficiency and a 12-year warranty on the product.

13220141_10154338892736487_1218328943_nMany solar power businesses are coming out in the market. Cunanan says the difference of his company is that the solar technology they use comes from REC of Norway, the top of the line in its field.

“We also have 24/7 customer service, doon pa lang lamang na kami sa iba. We are also updated with solar innovations,” adds Cunanan.

For Your Solar Power Residential & Commercial Solution Visit TRC or call Christian Cunanan (778) 995-1435, Nisha Lalwani (604) 338-5544 at Vancouver Canada and Dinesh Lalwani (+63) 917-725- 0272 at Makati Philippines and harness the power of the sun.
