  • Nakipag-ugnayan ang Coop Development Officer ng Saskatchewan Cooperative Association na si G. Patrick Lapointe sa One Filipino Cooperative Of BC upang tulungan ang mga Pinoy sa kanilang lugar makapagtayo at makapagrehistro bilang isang samahang kooperatiba.
    Ayon kay G. Lapointe, nagtanong daw siya sa Ontario Cooperative Association kung may alam silang Filipino Cooperative sa Ontario at ayon sa kanyang nakausap ay may alam siya pero sa British Columbia. Agad niyang hinanap sa internet at natagpuan niya nga ang One Filipino Cooperative of BC.

    Narito ang kanyang email kay Bev Maxim at Mildred Fernanda, mga organizers ng Pinoy Co-op sa Saskatchewan. “There is a Filipino co-operative in BC performing similar services to that you are proposing for you co-operative. It is called “ONE FILIPINO CO-OPERATIVE OF BC”. I was able to contact their manager Jojo Palencia to discuss you interest in receiving information from him about their co-operative.

    Sa ngayon ay may ilang kooperatibang Pinoy na rin ditto sa BC na ang naging modelo ang OneFilCo-op. Tinulungan at ginabayan sila ng ilang opisyal ng FilCo-op sa pagsisimula ng kanilang organisasyon. Nais din ng FilCo-op na umunlad, lumawak at dumami pa ang mga Pinoy na maging kasapi ng samahang koopertiba hindi lang sa dito sa BC kundi sa iba pang panig ng Canada.
