  • ANGKLA party list Vancouver volunteers Wilbur and Evelyn Victoria recently visited the Multicultural Helping House Society to enlist the support for Angkla in the coming elections in the Philippines.

Angkla, a partly list that represents the welfare of Filipino seafarers, is looking forward to a 2nd-term in Congress. During their first term, Angkla Party List representative Congressman Jess Manalo authored bills in which four (4) were passed into law including the Marina Law, the Seafarers Protection Act, and the Philippine Naval Architecture Act.

One third of the crew of majority of ships in the world are Filipino seafarers. This sector contributed US$5.3 Billion to the Philippine economy in 2015 alone.  Congressman Manalo emphasized that much remains to be done in order to fulfill ANGKLA’s vision to make the Philippines a strong maritime nation.

Using the battlecry “Tulong sa Marino. Tulong sa Pilipino”,  Manalo asks Filipino seafarers, their family members and friends, and the whole nation to continue their support for Angkla.  Angkla is No. 43 in the ballot.

The Consulate Special Ballot Reception and Custody Group started mailing the ballots to registered voters, except to those who have signified their intention to cast their ballots in person at the Philippine Consulate from April 9 to May 9, 2016.
