Billy Crawford sets the record straight: ‘Wala akong kaaway’

It’s confirmed! The noontime program “Lunch Out Loud” on TV5 is here to stay!

This was stated by actor-musician Billy Crawford, who met the entertainment press, at the launch of the latest portion of L.O.L. called Maritest at Studio 72 in Quezon City over the weekend.

Billy, one of the hosts of the LOL, said he initially heard the rumor when he was still abroad.

Kaibigan ko so Ogie.

Billy said it was sad that L.O.L. was the target of malicious rumors. Worse, some people believe that the attack is aimed at the Filipino-American entertainer.

“Nagsimula ako sa industriya four years old and I am turning 40 on May 16. Three months lang yan!

Thank God for BrightLights. Thank God for Lunch Out Loud!

“There are times na struggling kami sa ratings. It’s hearsay. Kapag wala kayong naririnig from TV 5, Sir Albee (Benitez), or sa aming mga host, wala itong katotohahan,” Billy reiterated.

Billy admitted he gets sometimes affected, but he said he couldn’t care less if the “enemies” would create vicious talks about him.

Billy, however, warned rumormongers from dragging his wife actress Coleen Garcia and their son Amari into controversies.

In Sept. 2020, Billy bid a tearful goodbye to ABS-CBN. But Billy revealed many of his friends didn’t understand his decision. He transferred to TV5 and joined LOL in October of the same year.

Lambingin mo pagkatapos. Ang ginawa ko lang pumunta lang ako sa dressing room ni Kuya Germs at sinabi kong ‘i love you.’ That time Kuya Germs needed attention. Kilala ko yan. Tatay ko yan. So marami akong natututunan during my 30 years sa industriya. Okay lang,” he said.

A person of integrity, Billy believes he doesn’t have enemies in show business.

I’m a confrontational person.

While he “lost” some of his friends during his network transfer, Billy said that his ties with other people have become stronger and solid. He counts Luis Manzano and Vhong Navarro as two of his best buddies. Naging solid.”

Believe it or not, but for several years now, Billy had no more nightlife. He doesn’t even drink wine and alcohol.

“Six years, walang wine at walang alcohol. Not even social drinking. Wala ring nightlife. Pinangako ko ito sa sarili ko,” he said.

Asked where he drew his strength to control it, Billy said: “Siguro nakuha ko yun sa mga mistakes ko in the past – yung ilang beses ka ng nababagok sa ulo.

Billy is going back to France for a special project beginning in July. He’s also happy that Coleen is heading back to work as the country relaxes its restrictions from Covid-19. “Hindi madali ang fatherhood to juggle time. Hands-on din si Coleen sa anak namin. For her sanity bilang ina, kailangan niya yun (work). It’s good na magve-venture na siyang magtatrabho uli.
