World-class talent search “Pilipinas Got Talent” topped weekend programming in the country, hitting a national TV rating of 36% last Saturday (Feb 13) and 37.8% last Sunday (Feb 14), according to data from Kantar Media.

This is the program’s highest rating since it premiered in January. The local adaptation of the worldwide hit franchise was able to beat its rival programs, which only garnered 22% and 17.4%, respectively.

Viewers were once again captivated by the amazing talents showcased in PGT. One of them is flair bartending couple Larry and Sharleen from Quezon City, also known as Liquid Concepts, who instantly moved on to the semi-finals after judge Angel Locsin chose them as her Golden Buzzer act this season. It also serves as Angel’s engagement treat to them after Larry proposed to Sharleen right on the PGT stage.

Meanwhile, 22-year-old drummer from Davao City, Gian Bacalso, also made a scene after girls, including Vice Ganda, were swept away by his boy-next-door-charm as soon as he stepped on stage. The crowd even went wilder when he started playing the drums, which Vice referred to as ‘very sexy.’ In the end, Gian was able to impress all four judges, which made him advance to the next round of the competition.

What acts will surprise viewers and the judges next? Who will be the next lucky Golden Buzzer act?

“Pilipinas Got Talent” is a world class talent search that aims to find the best Pinoy acts in the country. It is hosted by Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford with judges Freddie M. Garcia, Angel Locsin, Robin Padilla, and Vice Ganda.
