  • Since it started airing in 2008, “Matanglawin” has acquired more than 100 recognitions from different local and international award-giving bodies, making it the most awarded educational program on Philippine television today. In 2014, “Matanglawin” received the prestigious Ani ng Dangal Award for Multi-Disciplinary Arts at the 6th Ani ng Dangal Awards organized by the National Commission for the Culture and Arts for winning the Educational Award at the 2012 ASEAN Science Film Festival.

    The show also received numerous accolades from respected award-giving bodies such as the Catholic Mass Media Awards, Anak TV, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, Philippine Movie Press Club, and Entertainment Press Society.

    The academe has also paid tribute to Kuya Kim and the program through its respective student award-giving bodies that include the USTv Students’ Choice Awards, UPLB Gandingan Awards, Gawad Tanglaw, Gawad Pasado, PUP Mabini Media Awards, Paragala Central Luzon Media Awards, St. Scholastica’s Hildegard Awards, La Concolacion College of Manila Social Responsibility Awards for Media, North West Samar State University Students’ Choice Awards, Bataan State University Kagitingan Awards, and Eastern Visayas State University Students’ Choice Mass Media Awards.

    In the international scene, “Matanglawin”received a special commendation for Best Children’s Program from the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union, Best TV Program nomination at the Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival, and was named finalist in the Children’s program category at the 2012 BANFF Rockies Media Festival.

    As the program continues its 7th year, more exciting adventures and trivia await its viewers.
