Ritz Azul clears up rumors about her network transfer

  • New Kapamilya Ritz Azul clarified that a huge reason that made her switch networks was the contents of ABS-CBN’s offer.

Ritz described her big move as a “dream come true” in an interview during a visit on the set of FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano.

“Noong pagpasok ko ng TV5, doon ko nalaman na ito yung ABS-CBN, ito yung GMA, ito yung 5,” said Ritz who admitted to not knowing the network’s “system” prior to being in showbiz.

Sabi ko, ‘Wow, yung mga artista ng ABS, parang kagalang-galang, ang gaganda, tapos ang gagaling umarte, at ang daming endorsements.’ [Naisip ko], ‘Ano kaya kung mapasama ako [doon] one day?’” she added.

While she admits that GMA also gave her an offer, in fact she even appeared in a sitcom on the network, Ritz said that the “track” that ABS-CBN laid down before her is what really made her decide to become a Kapamilya.

“Nauna po talaga ang GMA na lumapit… [Pero] nauna po nagbigay ng plans ang ABS-CBN. Nagustuhan rin naman po ni Papa,” she said about her father who also acts as her manager along with Star Magic.

“Masasabi ko po na nauna po kasi nagbigay ng plans yung ABS and nagustuhan naman po namin agad, kasi di mo talaga matatanggihan yung offer niya. Kasi ang ganda, developmental siya,” she stressed.

By “developmental” Ritz expounded that she would be “trained” and “developed” to be an actress.

Prior to Ritz, there are a number of other stars from her former network that also jumped to being a Kapamilya. There’s Arci Muñoz, JC de Vera, and Alex Gonzaga.

But, contrary to speculations, she stressed that their transfer and eventually, the progress of their career in the network did not affect her decision to move.

“Kaya kami nag-decide na lumipat, kasi dahil doon sa plan, yung hinahanap namin ni Papa na plan. May direksiyon talaga, may career path talaga kaya po namin naisip,” she said.

Neverthless Ritz says she’s hoping to working with her former TV5 artists as well as other Kapamilya leading men Paulo Avelino and John Lloyd Cruz. (M.M. Belmonter, push.com.ph)
