  • Is Anne Curtis the next Darna?

The short answer is that nothing has been announced yet. But she will be working on a new film with “Darna” director Erik Matti, the Kapamilya actress teased on Wednesday.

On her Instagram account, the 31-year-old Curtis posted a photo of her with Matti, who also directed the acclaimed films “Honor Thy Father” and “On the Job.”

“Super excited for this! Time to work my butt off again,” she wrote as the caption.

Curtis also added phrases like “Run and Gun,” “No Double,” and “Let’s Get Ready to Rumble” in the caption, fueling speculations from fans that the untitled project will be an action-heavy film.

Viva Films, the producer of the movie, has yet to make a formal announcement about the

    film.

Meanwhile, Star Cinema has yet to reveal their choice to replace Angel Locsin for the iconic role of Darna. Locsin had to pull out of the planned film about the superheroine due to health issues with her spine.

She has since undergone several medical procedures to treat the disc bulge found in her spine, drawing speculations that she could be recast as Darna. Locsin had downplayed those

suggestions, but has not ruledout the possibility.

Those who have been billed as Locsin’s replacement include Jessy Mendiola, Nadine Lustre, Arci Munoz, and Liza Soberano.•
