  • angelica-pangilinanInstead of defending herself from her bashers, Angelica Panganiban even agreed with the things that they pointed out about how different her acting prowess was from that of Superstar Nora Aunor’s. Angelica recently earned the ire of certain critics after being named Best Actress by Gawad Tanglaw for her movie That Thing Called Tadhana, where she tied with Nora Aunor who won for Dementia.

Hindi ako kokontra,” Angelica said at a recently-concluded press conference of her Cinema One movie That Thing Called Tadhana opposite JM de Guzman.

However she pointed out that it wasn’t her fault that she won the award so, “Sana hayaan na lang nila na i-enjoy ko.”

Amid the backlash, Angelica remained grateful that her skills were recognized for as she puts it, “Napakarare ng ganitong pagkakataon sa career ng isang artista na makatabi mo man lang ang pangalan ni Ate Guy.

But is she not pressured about the award especially since she tied with the Superstar for it? “Pressure naman tuloy ako bigla! Hindi, hindi talaga… I guess maganda rin yung ‘di ko pinapaikot ang mundo ko sa mga nakukuha kong achievements,” the multi-awarded actress replied.

While she is flattered about her achievements and citations, Angelica said she deliberately don’t make a fuss out of them.

    she ended.

That Thing Called Tadhana directed by Antoinette Jadaone starring Angelica and JM will be shown in theaters nationwide starting February 4. (M. Belmonte,push.com)
