  • jayaGMA International, the business unit that handles GMA Network’s international channels, in partnership with the Filipino Canadian Marketing Group (FCMG), Inc., commemorates decades of great Filipino music in the third staging of Vancouver’s Original Pinoy Music Festival. The sounds of original Filipino music will be heard on July 19 at the Plaza of Nations, 750 Pacific Boulevard, Vancouver, from 12:00 NN to 6:00 PM. Leading the celebration is multi-awarded Kapuso Soul Diva Jaya, currently a main host of GMA’s variety program, Sunday All-Stars. Fans of the singer-actress will also have a chance to meet and greet their idol at the GMA booth.

The festival, a one-of-a-kind celebration of Filipino culture, values, and traditions through music, will feature live band and solo acts by local Filipino performers. The crowd can also look forward to a new segment called “OPM Festival Composer of the Year” as well as booths promoting Filipino products and services.

Since the festival’s launch in 2012, GMA International has remained a constant presence, actively supporting its goal of enriching the local Filipino music scene and instilling “Pinoy Pride” through original Filipino music.

In its first year, Pinoy King of Soul Janno Gibbs and Vancouver’s Sweetheart Joey Albert graced the event while Kapuso hunk Aljur Abrenica and Kapuso leading lady Kris Bernal excited their Filipino-Canadians fans at the festival the following year.
