Lovi Poe in “Hindi Tayo Pwede”

  • LOVI Poe celebrated her recent birthday in the USA with her boyfriend, Montgomery Blencowe. They were together for almost two weeks but she had to return to Manila for the promo of “Hindi Tayo Pwede” that opens in theaters tomorrow. When its press con was held at Botejyu Fisher Mall last week, she just returned that morning from the US but it looks like she has no jetlag at all as she was bubbly and vibrant throughout the Q&A portion. So how’s her vacation?

“It’s definitely worth it and I think I deserved it kasi the past few months, I got busy doing several movies and TV shows,” she says. “Naging very happy ang birthday ko on February 11 at pati Valentine’s Day na rin. At sa pag-uwi ko ngayon dito, magiging busy na rin ako taping for my new show sa GMA-7 with Benjamin Alves, a rom-com entitled ‘Owe My Love’ with Ai Ai de las Alas, Nova Villa and Ruby Rodriguez, kaya it’s good na nakapag-rest din ako.”

Her last movies with Regal, “The Escort,” “Woke Up Like This” and “The Annulment,” are all box office winners, so Lovi is confident and optimistic that “Hindi Tayo Pwede” with Viva will also perform beautifully at the tills. It will have its premiere night at SM Megamall tonight, Tuesday, March 3.

“This is an unusual movie kasi dalawa ang leading men ko and they’re both good actors, Marco Gumabao and Tony Labrusca. First time ko to do a movie with both of them and we quickly became comfortable with each other with the help of our director, Joel Lamangan, na gamay ko na kasi we’ve worked several times before in ‘Sagrada Familia,’ ‘Lihis,’ ‘Sigwa,’
‘The Bride and the Lover’ and ‘The Significant Other’.”

She loves being paired with her new leading men. “They’re both very responsible and professional, real gentlemen even in the love scenes we did. I know people will talk about the love scenes, but I hope hindi lang ‘yun ang mapansin nila sa movie because the story is really different and very involving. After all, the script is written by Sir Ricky Lee no less.
Asset din ang title song naming ‘Hindi Tayo Pwede’ ng The Juans na bagay na bagay sa movie.”
