  • Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth arrived in Manila Sunday night to kick off the world promo
tour for the muchawaited Netflix movie “Extraction 2” which will stream beginning June 16.

“Mabuhay!” said Chris to his adoring fans during the fan meet held at the SM Mall of Asia in
Pasay City on June 5. “Thank you so much for coming here.”

It was the first time Chris and former stuntmanturneddirector Sam Hargrave visited the
    Philippines.

“First time for me in the Philippines. How about you Chris?” said Sam.

Chris said: “It is. Thank you for the warm welcome. Thank you, everybody.”

Sam told the audience at the MOA that there were new stunts in the film a“We tried. In the
first film, we had ‘oner’ of 11 1/2 minutes. And so in this film, we went for 21 minutes and
seven seconds. It takes a lot of preparation as we rehearsed for 34 months to get all the
elements in place. The experience is as if we have one shot because we have so many different
elements and moving parts literally like trains and helicopters. So we have to break it up into
small pieces, so it feels like one intimate shot,” the ‘Extraction 2’ director said.

Of the stunts in the movie, the 39yearold Australian actor answered: “It was exhausting. But
this is an opportunity for the audience to see something different from the first film.”

Chris and Sam also posed for selfies and signed posters and other souvenirs for fans. The Aussie
hunk even flashed a finger heart gesture to the crowd.

Celebrities from AsiaPacific also graced the hourlong fan meet. Among the celebrities who
attended the event were Kapuso stars Alden Richards, brothers Rayver and Rodjun Cruz, Sofia
Pablo and Allen Ansay, Miguel Tanfelix, Cynthia Tomalla, Maja Salvador, Derek Ramsay, Alodia
Gosiengfiao and husband Christopher Quimbo, Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos, Kris Bernal and
husband Perry Choi, Asian beauty queens, and action stars.

Prior to the MOA event, Chris and Sam met the press from AsiaPacific for a 30minute press
    conference at the Conrad Hotel.

“We flew in last night (Sunday). I feel rested and excited to be here. Thank you very much for
    the warm welcome,” said Chris.

Asked to give his message to his fans, Chris said: “I love you all, thank you for coming. Once
again, thanks for the support. Enjoy, have a wonderful night.

    “Enjoy the movie,” Sam added.
Chris returns as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2, the sequel to Netflix’s blockbuster action film
Extraction. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian
black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a
ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.

Chris reunites with director Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe
Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Adam Bessa, Olga
Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili also costarring.

This is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks,
from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León
    González.

“Extraction 2” is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela RussoOtstot,
Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall, and Sam Hargrave, with Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven
Scavelli, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely as executive producers. (R. Requintina,
